Three times a year, Headquarters Counseling Center recruits and trains 12-20 caring and compassionate individuals to become HQCC Volunteer Counselors. While they will use the skills they learn in their time as a volunteer counselor, they will also use them throughout their lives in almost any relationship or situation. The training they receive make them professionally sought after, allow them to be impactful in their careers, and demonstrate time and time again that they are incredibly well trained and compassionate listeners. Volunteer Counselors, however, are not asked to pay for any of their training. Instead, they make a commitment to 300 hours in their first year, serving their community at Headquarters, Inc.
Our 9-week training program and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) cost about $400 per volunteer. Their 300-hour commitment to Headquarters Counseling Center, according to Independent Sector, adds up to a value of $6,642.00.
Will you sponsor a volunteer? Then watch the value of your gift multiplied exponentially in community impact. The volunteer you sponsor will go on to save lives though counseling and suicide intervention, help others needing emotional support, and be the one who serves those in the community who feel as though they have no where else to turn.
Thanks to Bruce Frey for all of his work with this organization.
If you can save one innocent Life, it’s as if you’ve saved the entire World
In memory of Jason Aaron Arkin, our dear son
This is another donation to help defray the cost of training my son as a volunteer.
I donated in support of this campaign.
